Phew! What a whirlwind. Four readings and one workshop in twelve days – plus helping my mom do some downsizing by picking through her books (hopefully my suitcase has not tipped over into the oversize scale).
I want to express my deep gratitude for everyone who helped make my wee Ontario Following Sea tour a success, including my fellow writers and those who do the work of supporting books: Turnstone Press, Jeff Kirby at KnifeForkBook, Jayne Poolton-Turvey and the Orillia Public Library, Rob Caldwell and the Newmarket Public Library, The Writers’ Community of York Region, Cindy Watson and Wendie Donabie and the Muskoka Authors’ Association, the Chapel Gallery, and, of course, my fellow readers/writers: Laura Rock Gaughan, Elizabeth Ross, and Paula Eisenstein.
AND, of course, huge thanks to all of you who came out to listen and ask questions and talk about writing and buy books. It truly takes a village (or maybe a full-on town) to support, share and encourage creative work! Thank you!
(Also, I owe huge props to my mom and sister, Laura and Carey Carter for keeping me fed, well-rested, housed, and for getting me where I needed to be….)
Now, I’m off on a secret adventure with said mom and sister for a few days to celebrate my sister’s recent big birthday! I’ll be back soon! Until then, happy reading-writing-hiking-gardening-birdwatching-whittling or whatever you love to do!
Thank you Lauren.
I appreciated your insights and suggestions at the workshop in Bracebridge.
Enjoy your adventures.
Thanks,Gary! Good to meet you!
