I’m thrilled to report that a terrific review of Swarm came out in the August issue of Booklist, a publication of the American Library Association which provides reviews geared mainly towards librarians and booksellers.
If you sign up (they do offer 14-day trial memberships), you can read the review on their website. But I’ll also give you a taste of the good stuff.
Reviewer Julie Trevelyan describes the book as being “imbued with dark lyricism and a disturbingly credible view of the end of the world” before going on to say that “the story is carried by strong, descriptive writing by poet Carter, further impelled by the sense of mystery around the feral girl and wonderment over what will become of the characters. A somberly melodic, literary foray into the current dystopian trend.”
Thrilled!
Lauren that is great to hear! Hurray,!
