Houston, Do You Read Me?
Well, we’re up and running.
But in order to do so – to have the type of Internet we take for granted back home: fast enough to stream Netflix with no, gasp!, buffering – we had to have a 20-foot tower erected on the top of our house.
!!!!!!
The communications tower for our interstellar mission, J. says.
I just hope it doesn’t knock our resale value into the ground, I respond.
To which he says, It’s the north, honey. People do crazy s*&t up here.
We’ll see (not that I’m not loving the thought of back-to-back episodes of Star Trek: Next Gen).
Here’s the photographic evidence. Let me know what you think.

I think it’s great! He’s right, people do crazy things, but that’s not crazy. You will appreciate it when the weather keeps you inside, etc, etc, etc. Nice to hear from you. Hope jason’s first day is good!
Love,
Dad

It looks kind of delicate and cute.
I think you’ll start a new fad and they’ll start popping up all over.
Your first contribution to The Pas.
Love you,
Mom

I like it. Makes the place look warmer and friendly. It clearly says, “Communication happens here.” All the best for Monday, Jay. I’ll be thinking of you as I settle in for the long haul with my own class. Love to you both, Mom/Joy

Looks better than the giant array I have over my house!
Makes it look like you have an RC house!

Hey there Lauren and Jay,
Good to hear that the wagon train made it. The tower is rather delicate in nature:) Kind of reminds me of some of the early ’60′s Si-fi creations. Looks good to me and it’s functional.
Be well and stay warm.

Communication DOES happen here. We both just sent a Skype request to you.

Thx. Mom…

Already appreciating it… The Internet is faster here than it was back home. I’ve passed that message onto Jason.

I like it. It looks smart. It says smart people live here. I’m amazed you guys got around to it so quickly.

I am impressed with the speed of your organization and installation ability, let alone how fast the internet might be. Good for you! Move right in and make it yours. That ‘s a good idea. And it detracts not one whit from the house. Probably ups the resale value- great amenities, it says.
Congratulations on the move. Best of luck next week to Jason.
Cheers, and happy new year,
Sue

I agree with Amber…kinda like some sort of scientific laboratory. I would expect to walk in and see miraculous plants in jars and whirring machines everywhere. Good on ya for getting hooked up so quickly. Xxoo
